ILLUMINATION

It feels like a light, burning at the very center of me, pulsing and expanding and pouring through every inch of my being
like some unstoppable force.

And when I smile, that's the
light pushing through
And when I cry, my tears act
as tiny prisms, dripping with light,
casting rainbows across my cheeks.
And when I laugh, that's the
light spontaneously bursting within me,
erupting into the Universe to resonate
into the abyss.

That's what it feels like to be me,
or at least, that's the best
I can explain it.

I am a light, a fire, an explosion of joy.
I burn with love and life and
the enchanting potential for more.

I wonder and wander through the world,
smiling and laughing and loving.
I am a luminous being.
And so are you, dear strangers and friends.

Trust me, I have sat quietly
back and observed.
I have watched you flash by in flames.

Elation is a ChoHOhoice

It's a choHOhoice we make to be haHAhappy.
To see the bright side of things,
the cup that is half full,
the good in all people.

I've been told that I'm a dreamer,
 not a realist,
not for real
Too happy -
too positive -
too enthusiastic.

I was born that way.
We were all born that way.
With a certain joie de vivre.
As children, we knew that to be the truth of our beings.

As I grew up, I witnessed other ways -
worry and drama,
depression,
worst case scenarios,
DONT's and NO's.

What I've learned during my brief 44 years on this planet is
that these methods do not work.
They just create more of the same.

Making a choice of being haHAhappy chaHAhanges everything.
Practicing my gratitude muscle daily brings me more abundance
Opening my heart wide brings me beauty and blessings
Allowing my mind to be quiet creates a space for my intuition to be heard
Laughing out loud keeps me flexible

Elation is the Art of Being HaHAhappy
Feeling the haHAhappy from head to toe
And deep in your bones
Emanating from your heart
Showing up as a glow
Settling on my lips as a smile
Singing you a haHAhappy song

ExhaHAhaustion

As I write this, I have been up for 34 hours with no end in sight. Sitting in the airport in Guayaquil, waiting for this flight to arrive so it can empty and bring me back to Miami.

I am past the point of tired - my body and brain functioning on overdrive, emotions all stirred up. I sit here on the brink of tears and start to giggle. I mean, it's just so silly really. Being in an airport surrounded by people and yet feeling so alone and vulnerable. Trying to keep myself from nodding off and losing control of my body.

I laugh, a shy humming HaHa - feeling the vibration of air on my tongue. I tap my thumbs to my different fingers - ho ho ha ha hee hee ho ho - ho ho ha ha hee hee ho ho - developing a rhythm that feels good - as I feel my fingers pulsating with energy. Heat in my hands from the repetitive motion, I am slowly awakening from within.

A smile creeps onto my face as I look around at the other passengers also waiting for their flights. A woman across from me smiles back. A conversation starts. As I speak, my tongue slips into gibberish. My new friend and I start laughing and laughing and laughing. Laughing so hard that I need to pee.

The wave of exhaHAhaustion passes. Calmer, I surrender to this experience and know that soon I will be boarding my flight and closing my eyes.
